It happened so fast. Just twelve seconds apart.
The Boston Red Sox won in a thrilling game against their AL East Rivals the Tampa Bay Rays. It was supposed to be a fun-filled day for Bostonians who was celebrating Patriot’s Day, but it did not happen that way. Just an hour after the Red Sox won, two bombs went off at the Boston Marathon, killing three people and injuring more than 170 people. Among those killed was a 8-year-old boy named Martin Richard who was waiting for his father at the finish line.
By now we have seen the photos of this tragedy. It was not supposed to happen this way. An explosion on American soil? It has not happened since 9/11. There are many questions surrounding this event including who is this mystery man on the roof after the explosions?
The FBI do not know who did this horrific act but will eventually find out who did this. What we do know is this, sports have always helped people under these circumstances. The New York Yankees, who are the Red Sox most hated rivals paid tribute to the victims of the bombing by playing Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline during the 3rd inning of their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
