New York Knicks: Embarrasing to Watch

Have you ever seen a flower die? Watch something that was once so beautiful, so full of life, collapse and rot from within?

This pretty much describes the New York Knicks this season. Disappointments, embarrassments and blowout losses have been common. The offense is stale and no one seems to like to pass the ball (it’s a team sport by the way guys) and the defense is just beyond horrible. They are seriously missing Tyson Chandler’s presence in the paint. Over dribbling and shooting unnecessary three pointers with 23 seconds left in the shot clock does not help either. Neither does stupid fouls in crucial situations. Amar’e Stoudemire is a shell of his former self and basically is stealing money from owner James Dolan. J.R Smith, that’s a different article for another day.

Speaking of James Dolan, he is the worst owner in sports today (No disrespect to Jerry Jones of the Cowboys.) Plain and simple. His decision making has been questionable at best and his behavior erratic. Earlier in the season, he banned the Knicks City Dancers (probably the best part of going to a Knicks game) until further notice and most recently banning actor/director Woody Allen. Throughout his reign of terror, the Knicks had a decade of losing seasons. Not something to be proud of if you are a owner of one of the most recognizable sports teams in the world. If the Knicks are going to be taking seriously then Dolan must at least act like a owner until they get a real owner.

Mike Woodson is not to blame for this mess. Woodson is a great coach who stresses the importance of defense. He is considered to have one of the best defensive minds in the league. Sadly, his players do not get the message and plays lazy defense every game. Firing Woodson will not accomplish anything except for making the Knicks worse.

As for Carmelo Anthony, who knows what he is thinking. Is he thinking of leaving New York and bolting to Los Angeles? I wouldn’t blame Melo leaving because of the team that Dolan puts together which is a disgrace. If he leaves, Knicks have only to blame themselves.

Last season, the Knicks were one of best teams in the league. Now they are a shell of their former self. After last night game against the Trail Blazers, fans shouldn’t feel too happy about this season. They are 3-10 and looks like there’s no end in sight.

Have faith Knicks fans. Have faith.
