The New York Knicks are in a bit of a pickle.
As of today, the Knicks are sitting in fourth place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 12-22. Perhaps the most unhappy man at the Garden is not James Dolan, but Carmelo Anthony. Anthony, who is in his final year of his contract could leave New York when the season is over. Possibly to either Los Angeles or Chicago.
Instead of waiting for the inevitable to happen, the Knicks should trade Carmelo. At the the right price. Almost every team in the NBA would love to have Melo on their team. Carmelo is averaging 26.3 PPG, 8.6 RPG and 2.8 APG. Now, the problem with Melo is his will to win. Can he be that guy to help lead his team to a NBA title?
What would the Knicks get in return? Well if they do decide to trade Melo, could they get a first round pick out of it? Also can they get a player that they can build around? Knowing James Dolan, he would probably trade Melo for a benchwarmer.
Who knows what the Knicks are going to do. One thing is for sure, they better get something good out of it.
