Pablo Sandoval has left the San Francisco Giants to sign with the Boston Red Sox.
Can you blame him? The Red Sox gave him a 5-year $95 million dollar deal. You would be foolish to leave a team that just won the World Series but money talks for these players. Sandoval even said in his introductory press conference that he is looking for a new challenge.
We hear that cliche so many times. It is basically baseball code for I am doing this for the money. $95 million is a lot of money to leave on the table. If you were in his shoes, you would do the same thing and leave
Giants fans shouldn’t be angry that Sandoval left the team. He only helped deliver three World Series championships to the Bay Area and hit three home runs in a World Series game. Giants fans should cherish the memories that Sandoval created for them.
With Ramirez onboard also, can the both of them help deliver another title to Boston? It remains to be seen but you can’t blame Sandoval for leaving.
