When the day comes, Carmelo Anthony would like to retire as a New York Knick.

According to Bleacher Report, Anthony is interested in retiring as a Knick when he decides to hang it up. In an interview with Ian Begley of SNY TV, Anthony stated: “I would have interest in signing with the Knicks and finishing his career in New York.”

Anthony, who is a 10x All Star, played with the Knicks from 2011- 2017. He was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017 where he averaged 13.4 PPG. The following season he signed with the Houston Rockets where he only played 10 games with the team until he “parted ways” in mid November. He was traded to the Chicago Bulls in January but never played a game for the team as he was waived.

It would be great to see Anthony wear a Knicks uniform one more time. He is currently a free agent and is considering teams who are a contender for a championship. The Lakers  can be the team that swoops in and sign him. It would make a lot of sense because Anthony hasn’t won a NBA title yet and the Lakers gives him the best shot of winning one.

As for the New York Knicks, they are looking to sign two major free agents like a Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. It looks like those two are going to the other basketball team in NYC so more than likely, the Knicks will continue to rebuild their team.
